Hoya Wax Plant – Hoya spp. is a stunning trailing or climbing plant known for its thick, waxy leaves and sweetly scented star-shaped flowers that bloom in clusters. Often called the "Porcelain Flower," this easy-care houseplant is adored for its charming looks and resilience. Ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, or trellises, Hoyas make a captivating and low-maintenance addition to any indoor plant collection.
🌱 Care Tips:
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some morning sun but avoid harsh afternoon rays. Low light reduces blooming.
Water:
Allow the top 3–5 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Hoyas are semi-succulent and prefer being slightly underwatered than overwatered.
Humidity:
Enjoys moderate to high humidity. Misting or a humidifier can help in drier climates, especially to encourage blooming.
Temperature:
Thrives in 18°C to 26°C (64°F–79°F). Protect from frost and sudden temperature changes.
Soil:
Well-draining soil is essential. Use a light mix with orchid bark, perlite, and peat or coco coir for good aeration.
Fertiliser:
Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Reduce feeding in cooler months.
Pet Friendly:
⚠️ Mildly toxic if ingested. Best kept out of reach of pets and small children.
