Botanical Name: Echeveria agavoides 'Lipstick'
Common Name: Echeveria 'Lipstick', Lipstick Echeveria
Origin: Native to Mexico
🌟 Description:
Echeveria 'Lipstick' is a bold and sculptural succulent admired for its thick, glossy green leaves edged in bright, ruby red—resembling a perfect swipe of lipstick! The rosette is symmetrical, compact, and slightly pointed, giving it a sharp, architectural look.
This variety stands out in any succulent arrangement or as a solo statement piece in a decorative pot. In ideal conditions, it may even produce tall flower stalks with reddish-pink blooms. Its vibrant contrast and low-maintenance nature make it a favourite among succulent lovers.
🌱 Care Tips:
Light:
Thrives in bright, indirect light or filtered sun. Direct morning light helps enhance the red edges. Avoid harsh midday sun which can scorch the leaves.
Water:
Water only when the soil is fully dry. Be careful not to let water sit in the rosette, as it can lead to rot. Water less in winter.
Humidity:
Prefers dry air. Avoid high-humidity spaces like bathrooms.
Temperature:
Best in 18°C to 26°C (65°F–79°F). Protect from frost and cold drafts.
Soil:
Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Adding perlite or pumice improves airflow around roots.
Fertiliser:
Feed monthly in spring and summer with diluted succulent fertiliser. Pause feeding in autumn and winter.
Pet Friendly:
❌ Caution: May be toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
