The Curly Spider Plant is a fun and easy-care indoor plant known for its beautifully twisted, curly green and cream-striped leaves. A compact variation of the classic Spider Plant, its cascading foliage gives it a unique and playful appearance, making it perfect for shelves, desks, hanging baskets or plant stands.
As a hardy and adaptable plant, the Curly Spider Plant is a great choice for beginners and experienced plant lovers alike. With the right conditions, it can also produce small white flowers and baby plantlets that grow along long stems, adding even more character to this already charming plant.
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate moderate light. Avoid strong direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and cause the variegation to fade.
Water:
Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but avoid leaving the plant sitting in water. Allow excess water to drain freely.
Humidity:
Tolerates average household humidity but appreciates moderate humidity. Keep it away from very dry air, particularly near heaters or strong air conditioning.
Temperature:
Grows best between 18°C to 27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10–12°C.
Soil:
Use a good-quality, well-draining indoor potting mix. Adding perlite can improve drainage and airflow around the roots.
Fertiliser:
Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. Reduce feeding during autumn and winter.
Pet Friendly:
✅ Non-toxic to cats and dogs. Spider Plants are generally considered pet-friendly, although consuming large quantities of any plant may cause mild stomach upset.
