Common Name: Picasso Peace Lily, Variegated Peace Lily
Origin: Hybrid cultivar, originally bred in tropical Asia and Central America
Description:
Spathiphyllum ‘Picasso’ is a rare and highly ornamental variegated version of the classic Peace Lily, prized for its stunning white and green marbled foliage. Each leaf is uniquely patterned—some painted in pure white, others streaked with creamy splashes or half-moon designs—making this plant a living piece of modern art.
Unlike your everyday Peace Lily, the Picasso variety brings an elevated, designer feel to interiors. It also purifies air, just like its green counterpart, making it as functional as it is beautiful.
🌱 Care Tips:
-
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Variegation fades in low light; avoid harsh sun to prevent scorching.
-
Water: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Don’t let it sit in soggy soil—good drainage is essential.
-
Humidity: Loves moderate to high humidity. Great for bathrooms, kitchens, or with a nearby humidifier.
-
Temperature: Ideal range is 18°C to 28°C (65°F–82°F). Keep away from cold drafts.
-
Soil: Use a rich, well-draining potting mix. A blend of potting soil with perlite or coco coir works well.
-
Fertiliser: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertiliser, diluted to half strength.
-
Pet Friendly: ❌ No. Toxic to pets if ingested—keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
